185 Post Street presents an alternative approach to rehabilitating historic buildings, fostering a layered and multifaceted dialogue between the old and the new. The proposal envisions enveloping the original 1908 masonry shell within a diaphanous glass screen, allowing its rich texture to remain a visible and integral part of the renewed architectural expression.

This new glass curtain wall is set nine inches away from the original façade, creating an intermediate air space that serves both aesthetic and functional purposes—moderating temperature fluctuations and allowing for the illumination of the cavity, enhancing the interplay of light, material, and form.
